Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) is giving technical assistance and financial support to Farmer's Life Improvement and Future Light Youth Organization (FLIFLY). ACCU helped and supported FLIFLY since 2007. ACCU is providing technical assistance to develop training materials, policies, and accounting system of Credit Unions, train the volunteers and field staff, coordinate with FLIFLY on the implementation of the Credit Unions promotion plan, provide financial support to conduct training and education program as well as providing technical assistance to FLIFLY on monitoring Credit Unions by preparing the Credit Unions by laws, policies, risk management and prudential standards. FLIFLY cooperation with ACCU and volunteer trainers who are responsible on the implementation of CUs promotion, provide necessary guidance to its community officers on the implementation and monitoring of the Credit Union Promotion Plan, collaborate with ACCU and CUs in conducting training and education program, and provide regular technical support and monitor and supervise credit unions, and coordinate with other CU promoting organization in Cambodia and to extend invitations for participants in the TOT and leadership training, provide financial report and progress report monthly basis as per the format given by ACCU.

The activities of the project from 2013-2014, we will teach, 1,000 women heads of families and to 200 men heads of families about the concept development, saving mobilization and crediting. Trained cloth and purses sewing skill to women, trained basic techniques of agriculture. In the second year, we continue to do more training on sewing skill to other villages. Besides, we have increased the activities of saving and credit. We will include these saving and credit activities in other communities. We have partners with Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Union (ACCU), ASAFK and Rabobank for supporting our project. The project which call building and organizing self-reliant communities through credit unions program. Credit Unions which they have used around the world. It is a commune base financial institution who built by peoples, manage by people, serve to peoples and belong to peoples for their present and future.

The project’s goal, objectives and outputs of the project as following:

1. Project’s goal (long term 5-10 years):
(a). To establish building and organizing 5 self-reliant communities , one per each commune. 
(b). To achieve the food/rice sufficiency at household and commune level.

2. Project’s objectives and outputs (first year: 2013-2014)
(a). To wake up 600 family’s heads families on development concept & self-reliance.
(b). To train 25 women from above number on sewing-clothes and purses skill from above figure. 
(c). To give loans to at least 50 family-members

Explain how the local population is actively involved in the project that has direct beneficiary 600 families, indirect beneficiary  3.169 persons that are living in 16 villages, 5 communes in Keansvay district, Kandal province, Cambodia.
